The first part of the ascent is shared with the Col de Plainpalais until you branch off 700m from the summit. After that, the slope becomes gentler, traffic calms down and you can enjoy the sunshine of the mountain pastures or the shade of the Revard forest. The view from the summit is exceptional, as you arrive at the famous Mont Revard lookout point. The view stretches from the Jura to Mont Blanc in fine weather, taking in Lac du Bourget, the Chartreuse, Bellledonne and the Bauges.... read more

A much longer climb than on the Aix les Bains side.
Interesting although not as pretty as the other side, the gradients remain fairly gentle throughout the climb.

On 11-06 I climbed the Mont Revard according to the route mentioned here. I don't have the idea that this is an official climb (there are no markings and/or signs anywhere). In terms of experience it is a special climb. The first kilometers you ride on a busy road with accompanying exhaust fumes (nasty!). The ascent is irregular, sometimes quite steep. Then it becomes more constant (6-7%) and you have occasionally beautiful views. The best part starts when you turn left at La Combe. Along picturesque houses it goes steep up. The last kilometers from ski village La Feclaz are not much, at the end you can turn left at the junction to a lookout point. The feeling of a real 'top' is missing with this climb.
