This slope actually forms the bridge from the coastal region to the hilly rural hinterland. This boundary is reinforced by the passage under the A16 motorway. Until the tunnel under the A16 the climb is very moderate. After the passage through the tunnel you drive parallel to the highway for a while and here it even goes down. If you already had a glimpse upwards, it won't come as a surprise, but when you turn away from the highway, it suddenly goes up a lot steeper. These 500 metres at over 10% can be called a small wall. The reward is an extra long descent on nice tarmac.
