Great climb; nice and punchy, quiet, fantastic views, close to Nice, nice hairpin turns. I rode this from the route to Levens, then from Nice to Saint Andre de la Roche you still have it pretty much flat and only from the turnoff to Falicon do you go to the top in 9.8 km.

Geweldige klim; lekker pittig, rustig, fantastisch uitzicht, vlakbij Nice, mooie haarspelbochtjes.

From Nice, you first have to tackle the Rimiez coast, which is not my favourite.
Once you get to Falicon, things become much more interesting.
The road is very pleasant, very quiet and the higher you climb, the smaller and wilder it becomes. This little ribbon draws laces and pins with boundless imagination. You'll be treated to all kinds of bends!
This climb is quite demanding. I found it a steady climb, and it's easy to find your own rhythm.
After the barrier, the quality of the surface deteriorates but it's still totally passable. You'll just have to watch out for the gravel, especially on the descent.
At the top, this strange old fort and an actively moving camera.
Along the way, abandoned and tagged houses. There's an atmosphere of a forgotten world up there.
All I saw were cyclists. Not a single polluting vehicle! So rare.
The descent is a delight! But watch out for all the traps.
Five stars for the very special atmosphere.

This is a challenging ride approximately 16km from the Promenades des Anglais to the top. It says it’s only 6.9km but you’re actually climbing from within the city from about the 14km mark. There is a slight downhill for a couple km before you begin the official climb. The heat and humidity are a challenge so best to do it early morning. There is a barrier about 2km from the top that prevents car traffic but overall very few cars on the climb itself. There is an old fortress at the top with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. The climb itself is challenging and from the prom it’s about 878m of climbing.
