Yes, I definitely recommend Mont Beuvray! The ascent is short but irregular and quite violent for a few metres. The landscape is nice. The forest and the archaeological site are a real plus. The trees are exceptional.

Yes, this is my favourite Burgundian climb,
Oui ! Je recommande sans aucun doute le Mont Beuvray ! L’ascension est courte, irrégulière à souhait et bien violente sur quelques mètres. Le paysage est chouette. La forêt et le site archéologique sont réellement un vrai plus, une récompense. Les arbres sont exceptionnels.
Là haut, on peut même faire des rencontres marquantes. L’influence des druides ?

In the summer you may not (before 19:00) cycle here. You drive namely to Bibracte, a historic 'village'. Part of a museum, during the day a shuttle bus goes up here. You can make (free) beautiful walks around and on the mountain, so you could do that. This is the last part, so beyond the barrier at the parking lot.
In de zomer mag je hier niet (voor 19:00) fietsen. Je rijdt namelijk naar Bibracte, een historische 'dorpje'. Onderdeel van een museum, overdag rijdt hier een pendelbus naar boven. Je kunt er wel (gratis) mooi wandelen rondom en op de berg, dus dat zou je wel kunnen doen. Dit gaat om het laatste deel, dus voorbij de slagboom bij de parkeerplaats.
