Eindeloze klim vanuit St André, maar grotendeels niet echt steil. Na de Col de Salides (waar is het naambord?) even stuk dalen. Daarna een paar kilometer steiler (stukjes van 12%), maar al snel vlakt het weer af. De laatste 8 km naar de Mont Aigoual rij je over een brede weg. Na zo lang geklommen te hebben ben je blij dat je op de top bent. Tip: realiseer je dat als in het dal de zon schijnt en het 20 graden is, dat op de top niet zo hoeft te zijn. Ik had armstukken of een jack mee moeten nemen (windstopper was niet voldoende).
Terrible climb. It makes a difference that the first part is mostly in the shade. After the descent, you climb more in the sun, which is terrible. Percentages are definitely not right here, there are stretches of 10% in it. Full in the sun, that's really tough.
On top of the Aigoual you do have a nice view. There is also very little traffic despite the last part being on a D-road.
Verschrikkelijke beklimming. Het scheelt dat het eerste deel grotendeels in de schaduw is. Na de afdaling klim je meer in de zon, en dat is verschrikkelijk. Percentages kloppen hier zeker niet, zitten stukken in van 10%. Vol in de zon, dat is echt zwaar.
Bovenop de Aigoual heb je dan wel weer een mooi uitzicht. Er is ook heel weinig verkeer ondanks dat het laatste stuk over een D-weg gaat.
