Endless climb from St André, but mostly not really steep. After the Col de Salides (where's the nameplate?) downhill for a bit. Then a few kilometres steeper (bits of 12%), but soon it flattens out again. The last 8 km to Mont Aigoual you ride on a wide road. After having climbed for so long, you are glad to be at the top. Tip: realise that if the sun is shining in the valley and it's 20 degrees, it doesn't have to be that way at the summit. I should have brought arm warmers or... read more

Terrible climb. It makes a difference that the first part is mostly in the shade. After the descent, you climb more in the sun, which is terrible. Percentages are definitely not right here, there are stretches of 10% in it. Full in the sun, that's really tough.

On top of the Aigoual you do have a nice view. There is also very little traffic despite the last part being on a D-road.

Verschrikkelijke beklimming.
