Climbing the Menez Lokorn is best via this northern side, through the fabulously beautiful medieval town of Locronan. Not for nothing that it is classed as one of 'des plus belles villes de France'. The cobbles in the centre make the climb even more interesting, but once past the centre the steepest part is over, the remaining kilometres to the summit are smooth. The little chapel at the top looks lost, which adds to its mysterious character. At the viewpoint, a hundred metres from the actual summit, don't forget to enjoy the view over the Celtic Sea in Dournenez Bay.
This Breton climb offers a picturesque route through the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in Finistère. With some sections displaying a very severe gradient of over 12% steepness, this climb will test your legs to the limit. Just before you start the final part of the climb, you can also enjoy a magnificent view of the Menez Hom and the bay of Douarnenez. However, be careful on the descent, as the steepest and shadiest section has a few potholes.
