If you don't like the 15% of le Mont Héry despite its fantastic hairpins, the Maninghem au Val is an alternative with mild percentages which goes up parallel. The climb gets gradually steeper in the second part of the climb, but the percentages are not that much. That doesn't mean the climb is not worthwhile. The gentle curves between the meadow with cows and the wooden railings next to the road give you the feeling that you are really climbing.
Mocht je ondanks de fantastische haarspeldbochten de 15% van le Mont Héry niet zien zitten dan is de Maninghem au Val een alternatief met milde percentages die parallel omhoog gaat. De klim wordt wel geleidelijk wat steiler in het 2de deel van de klim, maar veel stellen de percentages niet voor. Dat wil niet zeggen dat de klim niet de moeite waard is. De flauw slingerende bochten tussen de weide met koeien en de houten balustrades naast de weg geven toch even het gevoel dat je echt aan het klimmen bent.
