Tackled some time ago, this is basically the parallel climb to the equally treacherous Alpe Loccia from Chesio. Shorter (only 1.5 kilometres) but very treacherous due to the very high gradients with the final section not exceeding 20% it becomes very difficult if you have not previously dosed your energy well. Even arriving at the barrier from Valstrona and Luzzogno is not exactly a walk in the park (just before the start of the consortium road there is already a good wall to tackle), but afterwards the gradient is always well above 13-14% with peaks of even 19%. Fortunately the asphalt is decent although the roadway is rather narrow and the bitumen ends at the statue of the Madonna that dominates the valley and Luzzogno with a very impressive panoramic view. From that point the road becomes unpaved and impassable for a bdc. There is also a fountain at the summit. It is possible to combine the ascent with that of Alpe Loccia and then to Campello Monti and/or Massiola and/or Inuggio (which can be reached from Luzzogno), as long as you are aware that you are facing a short but very extreme tour.
