Beware, after the descent from Tour sur Tinée, the km at 5% and the km at 8% are truncated. From the end of the descent, it's a good stretch at 10% with a footing at 14%, then 1 km between 9 and 10% before the km on the way down. As for the km at 10 and the km at 11%, it is indeed very difficult and a pain in the ass, the end seems "easy" afterwards.
Actually, they are two separate climbs because after La Tour, you descend at least 2 km before you have to start pedalling again in the direction of Udelle. During the 12 km uphill, after la Tour, we did not see anyone. And it is spicy! Especially because there is a 2 km long strip to 10-14% just before the end of the tunnel (tunnel on col 😉 ). After the tunnel (the col) you turn off to the Madone d'Udelle. Another 6km, but much less steep and with a mostly comfortable gradual slope. The view is overwhelming. View of the sea, and of the peaks of the Mercantour.
