Eigenlijk zijn het twee losse beklimmingen want je daalt na la Tour toch zeker 2km af alvorens je richting Udelle weer op de pedalen moet gaan staan. We zijn gedurende de 12 km bergop, na la Tour, niemand tegen gekomen. En het is pittig! Vooral omdat er een ruim 2 km lange strook à 10-14% vlak voor het einde van de tunnel (tunnel op col 😉) zit. Na de tunnel (de col) sla je nog af naar de Madone d’Udelle. Nog eens 6km, maar veel minder steil en met een vooral comfortabel geleidelijke hellingshoek. Het uitzicht is overweldigend. Uitzicht op de zee, en op de toppen van de Mercantour.
