Road name: Strada delle Tolfe

I rode Le Tolfe as it got dark on a miserably wet April evening, so the white road was a sticky yellow/grey. Still, you can quickly see why it's become such an iconic climb in just a short few years. You can see a video below of my soggy experience, along with the climb in to the city. https://youtu.be/9oAglzC_U2s I couldn't get any kind of run up as the descent before it was so sketchy in the wet, and right away you hit ramps of 15% plus. I couldn't get any kind of run up as the descent before it was so sketchy in the wet, and right away you hit ramps of 15% plus. The road really does rise before you like a wall. Then a series of bends hide the fact you are barely half way up. Finally the little church looms out of the gloom and I'm at the top. If it was a fine day there would be fine views of Siena across the valley, but not for me on this occasion. I'm just in awe of the riders who race 213km up a long series of hills like this in the Strade Bianche.

Cool! Gulpenerberg only on its Strade Bianche. Lovely steep monster at the end of the Strade!

Gaaf!

Indeed picking up speed on the previous descent and then taking a good turn up the Tolfe. Megasteil and then also on gravel. Raking uphill during the Strade Bianche. The pros 'fluttered' here a day earlier among 5,000 Tifosi
uphill.

Cool gravel stretch known from the Strade Biance race. Steep descent followed by an idiotically steep climb that looks like a wall of gravel 🥵.
