A completely different experience to cycling up the Rosier on the north side. The start on the classic side is almost right in the centre of Spa. The first part is immediately steep between the houses. In the hamlet Creppe that part is over and the part through the forest starts. A nice and gradual part. Finally, you come out on the main road and you take the last part to the top.
Een compleet andere ervaring om de Rosier op te fietsen aan de noordzijde. De start met de klassieke kant is vrijwel gelijk in het centrum van Spa. Het eerste deel is direct steil tussen de huizen door. In het gehuchtje Creppe is dat deel voorbij en start het deel door het bos. Een mooi geleidelijk deel. Uiteindelijk kom je op de grote weg uit en pak je nog het laatste deel mee tot aan de top.
The climb of the Col du Rosier has a lot of beautiful sides, of which this side is undoubtedly the most unknown. The Rosier is often used in tours by pro riders who come from the NL area (Tom Dumoulin, Sam Oomen, LtD).
This side starts with a tough piece to the village of Creppe. Quite steep with at some points up to 10％. After Creppe follows an easier part. On this part of the climb there is virgin, black asphalt. This part rocks wonderfully. The last two kilometres are shared with other northern variants of the Rosier. Not super intense, unless you are riding against your own time. This variation of the Rosier is from Spa just over 7km long. Although no hairpin bends, still a super side!
De beklimmingen van de Col du Rosier kent heel veel mooie kanten, waarvan deze kant ongetwijfeld de onbekendste is. De Rosier wordt erg veel in rondjes opgenomen door profrenners die uit de buurt van NL komen (Tom Dumoulin, Sam Oomen, LtD).
Deze kant begint met een pittig stuk naar het dorpje Creppe. Goed steil met op sommige momenten stukken tegen de 10％ aan. Na Creppe volgt een makkelijker stuk. Op dit deel van de klim ligt maagdelijk vers, gitzwart asfalt. Dit stuk bolt heerlijk. De laatste twee kilometer worden gedeeld met andere noordelijke varianten van de Rosier. Niet super heftig, tenzij je tegen je eigen tijd aan het rijden bent. Deze variant van de Rosier is vanuit Spa net iets meer dan 7km lang. Hoewel geen haarspeldbochten, toch een superkant!
