I like this type of climb, short but very steep, to tell the truth I've specialised a bit and thanks to ClimbFinder I've found what I'm looking for.
If you look up in St Jean de Sixt you'll see this road going up at the end of the Rte du Danay and from the bottom it's chilling, the graph is faithful and the gradients are steep at the start then follows a section in the woods between 12 and over 14% until the end.
The road surface is in good to average condition, which isn't a problem on the climb given the low speed, but be careful on the descent where you sometimes have to apply the brakes very hard.
There are no miraculous views, just a climb for those who enjoy steep gradients.
Don't take the access road on the Grand Bornand side of the road, as it has been replaced by a café terrace at the cross, and the owners don't appreciate seeing bikes crossing between the tables and chairs. Access is via the Rte de La Clusaz.
