The start of the climb is in the centre of the village of Le Lonzac. At the end of the village you have a beautiful view of the Puy de la Monédière and the Suc au May. Then you leave the road to Treignac and turn off in the direction of Saint-Augustin, here you ride on a flat surface until you reach the big bend that leads straight to the village of Madranges. The slope becomes steeper in the middle of the Caillou wood until the steepest part at the end of the ascent. If you continue past Madranges you can tackle the Col du Bos.
Le début de l'ascension commence au centre bourg de Le Lonzac. A la sortie du village on a un beau panorama sur le Puy de la Monédière et le Suc au May. Puis on quitte la route de Treignac pour bifurquer en direction de Saint-Augustin, ici on roule sur du plat jusq'au gros virage qui mène tout droit au village de Madranges. La pente se redresse au milieu du bois de Caillou jusqu'à la partie la plus raide en fin d'ascension. En poursuivant sa route après Madranges on pourra attaquer le col du Bos.
