A nice little detour if your heading to Malaucene along the D938 to start the northern route up Mt Ventoux. The first section is definitely 'out-of-the-saddle' stuff but it eases off up into the village. Le Barroux itself is quite cute but there's not much going on unless you like medieval castles. A nice little detour if your heading to Malaucene along the D938 to start the northern route up Mt Ventoux. The first section is definitely 'out-of-the-saddle' stuff but it eases off up into the village. Le Barroux itself is quite cute but there's not much going on unless you like medieval castles.
If you continue via the D90A and then follow the Route de Suzette there is a way to avoid the most of the D938 towards Maluacene (you'll need to set a route on your phone / garmin). The countryside is lovely and it's super quiet.
