Near the beautiful castle of Vêves you climb steeply the narrow side road of the N910 to reach the first highest point. Then follows a descent to Gendron, a village situated around a church, to end up in Lavis, quietly ascending between the meadows and the open plain, between a few large farms.
If you don't turn right here but follow the Chaussée Romaine through the forest until the next crossing, you can connect with the second part of the Route de Lavis from Celles which, like the original climb, also ends in the village of Lavis.
