Nice climb, first part necessary traffic but after right turn almost none. First part is a lot in the sun...then more between the trees. At the top, the reward awaits (bar/restaurant).... read more

Carried out on September 22, 2021 :
The ascent to the small resort of Sambuy via the road to Villaret is the most difficult version, the other more known is the one that takes the road to the pass of Tamié on the first 4 km.
About 1,5km after Faverges you have to take the small road on the right in direction of Villaret (Grotto and waterfall of Seythenex). This way you can avoid the traffic on the main road and also increase the difficulty.
At the exit of Seythenex you join the classic route as there is only one road left.
Most of the climb is in the woods on mostly good tarmac, the gradient is quite steep with sections above 10%
The finish is in the car park of the Sambuy resort where there is not much to see except a restaurant.
Have a good ride and be careful
