I don't know if things have improved since then, but two years ago the pavement on this otherwise very picturesque forest climb was so bad that I strongly advise against it for bikes with thin tyres (less than 28 mm), especially on the downhill sections.
Another point to bear in mind is that the road is narrow and you need to be very careful when crossing with vehicles.
J'ignore si les choses se sont améliorées depuis, mais la dernière fois que je suis passé par là, il y a trois ans, la plus grande partie de la chaussée de cette ascension forestière (par ailleurs très pittoresque) était particulièrement dégradée, au point que je la déconseille fortement aux vélos à pneus fins (moins de 28 mm), tout particulièrement en descente.
Autre point à prendre en compte : la route est étroite et nécessite d'être très prudent lors des croisements avec des véhicules.
Le dernier kilomètre, après la bifurcation qui mène au site de La Molière (point de départ de randonnées fort panoramiques) était lui en en bon état, mais il est plus raide que ce profil le laisse apparaître.
