Done on 5 September 2023.
Not much point in doing this climb from St Georges d'Hurtières, to make sense of it you have to start from the La Maurienne valley at Aiguebelle, a total of 9km for 598M of ascent and an average gradient of 6.6%
A sign points the way to Le Col du Grand Cucheron via a long straight stretch through undergrowth overlooking the Rte de la Maurienne ( 4.7km 6% average gradient).
Just as you enter St Georges d'Hurtières a sign indicates the mining site, there are 4.4 left on the gradients indicated on the Climbfinder graph.
The finish is at the end of the Rte, just above the mine site. There's nothing really exciting up there, but the descent is a real eye-catcher.
