The first part of the climb is the prettiest and steepest. The second part is fine to skip if you don't need to cross it. That is gently uphill on a fairly busy straight motorway,
Het eerste deel van de klim is het mooist en het steilst. Het tweede deel kun je prima overslaan als je er niet overheen hoeft. Dat is rustig omhoog over een vrij drukke rechte autoweg,
Fine climb that apart from the first kilometer goes up evenly. The tarmac is fine, only disadvantage is the second part where you have to drive on the main road. When you get to the top, be sure to have lunch at the campground left of the road, here you will be well served and they also speak Dutch.
Fijne klim die afgezien van de 1e kilometer gelijkmatig omhoogloopt. Het asfalt is prima, enige nadeel is het tweede gedeelte waar je over de grote weg moet rijden. Wanneer je boven komt, ga zeker even lunchen bij de camping links van de weg, hier word je goed geholpen en spreekt men ook Nederlands.
The first kilometer is of amazing beauty. The second and the third are also beautiful and after that I have to sit out the climb amidst all the cars and trucks that whizz by. The last part makes me think that if I didn't want to be in Trois Ponts per se, I would choose to turn left after 1 km. towards Rahier.
De eerste kilometer is van verbluffende schoonheid. De tweede en de derde ook nog wel en daarna wordt het even de klim uitzitten temidden van alle auto's en vrachtwagens die langs je heen zoeven. Het laatste stuk maakt voor mij dat als ik niet per se in Trois Ponts zou willen zijn, ik ervoor zou kiezen om na 1 kilometer linksaf naar Rahier af te slaan.
The first part of the climb is tough but never really steep, indeed beautiful views and little traffic. Only that last 2 km of l'ancienne barrière is really less. A busy road and it is a long straight road up.
De eerste deel van de beklimming is pittig maar nergens echt steil, inderdaad mooi uitzichten en weinig verkeer. Alleen die laatste 2 km van l'ancienne barrière is wel echt minder. Een drukke weg en het is een lange rechte weg omhoog.
