All of D530 is closed due to the June 2024 floods. It is not possible to do this climb at the moment. It may reopen by the end of Sept 2024.
The scenery is an absolute joy. 1000m of climbing over long time, variously flat and steep sections. Cafe in village at dead end in paradise, in the heart of steep-sided mountains. There is now (in 2023) a lovely tarmac cycle track from Bourg d'Oisans to just before Venosc, if you wish to avoid the big and rather unlovely approach roads up the main valley floor. Just be aware you have to ford a mountain stream though!

Beautiful climb towards the shepherds' village of La Bérarde. Along the way, you cycle from waterfall to waterfall and you'll be short of eyes. Maybe not the most famous climb in the area, but anyway (one of) the most beautiful!
Prachtige klim richting herdersdorp La Bérarde. Onderweg fiets je van waterval tot waterval en kom je ogen te kort. Misschien niet de meeste bekende klim in de buurt, maar sowieso (één van) de mooiste!

So many nice climbs in the area, but this one is really top. Not super steep or tough like other climbs in the area. Rode it myself on Sunday 9 July. Day before I was to ride the Marmotte to warm up a bit.

Zoveel mooie klimmen in de omgeving, maar deze is echt top. Niet super steil of zwaar, zoals andere klimmen in de omgeving. Reed hem zelf op op zondag 9 juli. Dag voordat ik de Marmotte zou rijden om even lekker op te warmen.
Prachtige omgeving. Schitterende rivier die je heel de weg volgt en mooie uitzichten.
Beautiful climb to Montee la Berarde! The further you get the quieter and more beautiful. Waterfalls on all sides, small and very large. You must do this one if you're in the area.
Prachtige klim naar Montee la Berarde! Hoe verder je komt hoe rustiger en mooier. Watervallen aan alle kanten, kleine en hele grote. Deze moet je doen als je in de buurt bent.
Beautiful and tough climb. Done during the week, late May 2023. Little traffic, lots of greenery and relatively new asphalt.
Following noncommittal tips:
1. Beautiful bike path (la voie verte) from the centre of le Bourg d'Oisans (BdO). Almost 10 km to the D530. Not directly visible on Garmin/Strava, but well signposted in BdO. Some extra attention points:
(a) you cross a riverbed (Passage à gué). Concrete path is slightly lowered, so risk of wet feet. Spectacular, though.
b) there is a vicious climb in the cycle path of approx. 24％? On the way back watch out, then short, steep descent r. BdO;
(c) after Les Gauchoirs, go asap via a bridge to the main asphalt road D530 between le Clapier and la Bérarde. The continuous cycle path up to Venosc leaves much to be desired for road cyclists. Too much gravel & pebbles, only fun if you're on MTB/VTT.
2. When you come out on the D530 (via the bridge over Le Veneon river), turn left if necessary. Less than 500 metres away, you'll find l'Hotel Au Bon Accueil in les Ougiers with nice terrace and, at the back, a real cycling museum about the Tour de France. Just back in time. Afterwards, you can still climb 22 km via Vernosc ("back of les Deux Alpes") to Col de la Bérarde, with two vicious calf bites to approx. 12％. Enjoyable if you take your time ....
Allez, allez, bon route!
Prachtige en pittige klim. Doordeweeks gedaan, eind mei 2023. Weinig verkeer, veel groen en relatief nieuw asfalt.
Volgende vrijblijvende tips:
1. Prachtig fietspad (la voie verte) vanaf centrum van le Bourg d'Oisans (BdO). Bijna 10 km tot aan de D530. Niet direct zichtbaar op Garmin/Strava, maar wel goed op de borden in BdO aangegeven. Wat extra attentiepunten:
a) je doorkruist een rivierbedding (Passage à gué). Betonpad is iets verlaagd, dus kans op natte voeten. Wel spectaculair.
b) er zit venijnig klimmetje in het fietspad van ca 24％? Op terugweg uitkijken geblazen, dan korte, steile afdaling r. BdO;
c) ga zsm na Les Gauchoirs via een brug naar de grote asfaltweg D530 tussen le Clapier en la Bérarde. Het doorlopende fietspad tot aan Venosc laat te wensen over voor racefietsers. Teveel grind & steentjes, alleen leuk als je op MTB/VTT zit.
2. Als je uitkomt op de D530 (via de brug over Le Veneon rivier), sla dan eventueel linksaf. Op minder dan 500 meter vind je l'Hotel Au Bon Accueil in les Ougiers met mooi terras en aan de achterkant een heus wielermuseum over de Tour de France. Even terug in de tijd. Daarna kun je alsnog 22 km klimmen via Vernosc ("achterkant van les Deux Alpes") naar Col de la Bérarde, met twee venijnige kuitenbijters tot ca. 12％. Genieten geblazen als je rustig de tijd neemt ....
Allez, allez, bon route!
Fantastic climb with lots of variation in gradient. But above all, a climb where you can feel alone in the world. Lovely silence with beautiful views. At the end point, you can grab a terrace and still enjoy the silence. Do it!
Fantastische klim met veel afwisseling in stijgingspercentage. Maar bovenal een klim waar je je alleen op wereld kunt voelen. Heerlijke stilte met mooie vergezichten. Bij het eindpunt kun je een terrasje pakken en nog steeds genieten van de stilte. Doen!
Fantastic! Really enjoy. Not so much a must do climb, but just a great bike ride and enjoy the picturesque surroundings. A bite to eat on the fine terrace at the end and you are good to go again. We rode this 2 days before the Marmotte and this ride alone was worth the trip to the Alps.
Fantastisch! Echt genieten. Niet zozeer een must do klim, maar gewoon een geweldig ritje op de fiets en genieten van een schilderachtige omgeving. Hapje eten op het fijne terras aan het einde en je bent weer good to go. Wij reden deze 2 dagen voor de Marmotte en alleen deze rit was al de reis naar de Alpen waard.
This climb deserves a place high on every to-do list. The tough middle section was hard and the road surface needed some attention, but it was worth it! This is not cycling in the mountains, this is cycling to the end of the world with only the mountain peaks accompanying you. This ride is an experience in itself that will be unforgettable for everyone!
Deze klim verdient een plek hoog op iedere to do list. Het zware middenstuk was afzien en het wegdek is soms even goed opletten, maar wát was dit het waard! Dit is niet fietsen in de bergen, dit is fietsen naar het einde van de wereld met alleen de bergtoppen die je vergezellen. Deze rit is een ervaring op zich, die voor iedereen een onvergetelijke belevenis zal opleveren!
Another of the many beautiful rides near Le Bourg d'Oisans from where we left. It was not the toughest ride, but it is incredibly beautiful riding in this region next to a winding river. At the end we stopped for refreshments and then drove back to our starting point in Le Bourg d'Oisans.

Four weeks ago my husband and I rode this beautiful climb, for him a training ride to prepare for La Marmotte, for me to enjoy it!
What a beautiful climb! I only wonder if the percentages in the profile are correct, especially the bit after the forest near Venosc (over the little bridge) crawled immediately into the legs and then there are the hairpin bends a few kilometers further on! I regularly saw signs saying "km.. 10-11％". But the views and the fact that there is almost no traffic make it so worthwhile. Much nicer than the famous Alpe d' Huez and much quieter.
Vier weken geleden reden mijn man en ik deze prachtige klim, voor hem een trainingsrit ter voorbereiding op La Marmotte, voor mij voor het genieten!
Wat een schitterende klim! Ik vraag me alleen af of de percentages in het profiel kloppen, vooral het stukje na het bos bij Venosc (over het bruggetje) kroop meteen in de benen en dan moeten de haarspeldbochten een paar kilometer verderop nog komen! Ik heb regelmatig bordjes gezien met "km.. 10-11％". Maar het uitzicht en het feit dat er bijna geen verkeer rijdt, maakt het zo de moeite waard. Vele malen mooier dan de beroemde Alpe d' Huez en vele malen rustiger.
27 of the most beautiful kilometers in the region! We have climbed many famous cols in the past few weeks, but this climb to La Bérarde is breathtaking! The start is a bit disappointing, but once you've completed a few kilometers, you'll get to some tough parts with averages per kilometer of 11.2 and 9.8％. The rest of the route is much more moderate, which allows you to really enjoy this spectacular scenery along the river l'Oisans... the road in La Bérarde literally ends. The grocery store doesn't only sell souvenirs, they also serve a nice cup of hot chocolate to start the enjoyable journey back. Honestly, this ride is not to be missed if you're in the area...!
27 van de mooiste kilometers in de streek! We hebben in enkele weken heel veel cols met naam en faam beklommen, echter deze beklimming naar La Bérarde is adembenemend! De start valt wat tegen, maar eens je wat kilometers afgemaald hebt, kom je aan enkele pittige stukken met gemiddelden per kilometer van 11,2 en 9,8％. Verdere stukken zijn veel matiger wat je toelaat om echt te genieten van deze spectaculaire omgeving langs de rivier l‘Oisans… de weg in La Bérarde loopt letterlijk op een einde. Het kruidenierswinkeltje verkoopt niet enkel leuke souverniers, ze serveren ook nog een lekker kop warme chocomelk om de genietende terugweg aan te vatten. Eerlijk, deze rit mag je echt niet missen als je in de buurt bent…!
Do yourself a favor and put the Montee de la Bérarde high on your wish list. In my experience, this may be on top of the list between all the other beautiful climbs that this region is rich. I found this really beautiful! You'll have to swallow that you can not drive around and you have the same road back as to go. That road is so beautiful and quite good in quality, enjoy it. You drive on this road 27 kilometers along a blue river with fast flowing water. During these 27 kilometers you get to see waterfall after waterfall. Some big, others smaller. More than once you round a bend or roll down a hill and it's oohh and aaahhh.
Technically, this is a weird climb. 20 of the 27 miles are about 3/4 percent. (Really nice in my case after the Alpe d'Huez and the Col de Sarenne.) After the village, you suddenly get a kilometer of 11.2％ that pulled my rakes out of my back pockets. A few kilometres further on are some hairpin bends at 10％ average which also hurt well. If you survive that, the rest is a piece of cake and a lot of fun. The climb offers enough shade to be a good option on hot days as well.
Along the way, there are water points and occasional bars for snacks and drinks.
Doe jezelf een plezier en zet de Montee de la Bérarde hoog op je verlanglijst. In mijn beleving mag deze bovenaan de lijst tussen alle andere prachtige klimmen die deze regio rijk is. Wát vond ik dit mooi zeg! Je zult even moeten slikken dat je geen rondje kunt rijden en je over dezelfde weg terug als heen moet. Die weg is zo mooi en best goed in kwaliteit, lekker van genieten. Je rijdt op deze weg 27 kilometer langs een knalblauw riviertje met lekker snel stromend water. Gedurende de 27 kilometer krijg je waterval na waterval voorgeschoteld. Sommigen groot, anderen kleiner. Meer dan eens kom je een bocht om of een heuvel afgerold en is het oehhh en aaahhhh.
Technisch gezien is dit een rare klim. 20 van de 27 kilometers zijn een procent of 3/4. (Echt lekker in mijn geval na de Alpe d’Huez en de Col de Sarenne.) Na het dorpje krijg je ineens een kilometer aan 11,2％ die mijn harken uit mijn achterzakken trok. Een paar kilometer verderop liggen wat haarspeldbochten aan 10％ gemiddeld die ook goed zeer doen. Als je dat overleeft is de rest een peulenschil en dik genieten. De klim biedt genoeg schaduw om ook een goede optie te zijn tijdens hete dagen.
Onderweg zijn er waterpunten en af en toe een barretje voor hapjes en drankjes.
Beautiful ride! Until Venosc you can follow the Voie Verte, there are no cars there. This ride you should definitely have done, the environment is so beautiful! In La Bérarde the road ends.
Prachtige rit! Tot Venosc kun je Voie Verte volgen, daar zijn geen auto’s. Deze rit moet je zeker gedaan hebben, de omgeving is zo mooi! In La Bérarde eindigt de weg.
What a breathtaking environment for cycling. This route has everything, steep parts, streams, tunnels and the last part in a valley which can be quite warm ;-)
Wat een adembenemende omgeving om te fietsen. Deze route heeft van alles, steile gedeeltes, beekjes, tunneltje en het laatste stuk in een dal wat best warm kan zijn ;-)
This is what cycling is about for me! Not too hard, not too easy, an incredible view and some great bars/restaurants at your destination.
A beautiful trip to La Bérarde. The color of the fast flowing stream is beautiful. A quick wave to the rafters. The first tough climb goes through green landscape. The second challenge starts at the last kayak-rental, and sends you left up a steep rock face. Somehow they have put a road against it, which is a bit of a shock for people with fear of heights, like me. You now end up in a village, where a flock of sheep was walking on the road, so I had to rest a bit. Then it is a narrow winding road along another beautiful mountainside. There are still some cars but they can easily pass you at the blue signs "refuge". Definitely do this climb,

Een schitterende tocht naar La Bérarde. De kleur van de snelstromende beek is prachtig. Even zwaaien naar de rafters. Het eerste pittige stuk klimwerk gaat door groen landschap. De tweede uitdaging begint bij de laatste Kayak-verhuur, en stuurt je links een steile rotswand op. Op de een of andere manier hebben ze hier een weg tegenaangeplakt, die voor mensen met hoogtevrees, zoals ik, even slikken is. Je belandt nu in een dorpje, waar een schaapskudde over de weg liep en ik dus even moest rusten. Daarna is het nog een bochtige smalle weg langs weer een mooie bergwand. Er zijn nog wat auto’s maar die kunnen je makkelijk passeren bij de blauwe borden “refuge”. Zeker doen deze klim,

Many pieces false flat and 2 very steep pieces. Beautiful nature, especially at the end of the valley. One of the most beautiful climbs through nature and tranquility. Fast flowing streams and waterfalls.
Vele stukken vals plat en 2 hele gemene steile stukken. Schitterende natuur, zeker aan het eind van het dal. Een van de mooiste klimmen door de natuur en rust. Snel stromende beken en watervallen.
Pure cycling beauty .
This long irregular climb (cycled June 2019), following the mountain river Vénéon upstream, penetrates the breathtaking natural beauty in the heart of the Ecrins National Park.
In the initial route there is a lot of freight traffic from a stone quarry but once past that it is one and all tranquility.
There are only 2 literally breathtaking parts, just after Le Bourg d'Arud and the 6 hairpin bends before you reach the church of St. Christophe. The rest is pure enjoyment of beautiful high mountain panoramas and waterfalls of all sizes along the route.
Choose a cloudless and sunny day or you miss a lot of natural beauty!
End village La Bérarde (catering / parking / accommodation) is for a day without bike the ideal base for fantastic mountain walks in the National Park.

Deze lange onregelmatige klim (gefietst Juni 2019) dringt, de bergrivier Vénéon stroomopwaarts volgend, door tot de adembenemende natuurpracht in het hart van het Nationaal Park des Ecrins.
In de aanvangsroute is er veel vrachtverkeer van een steengroeve maar eens die voorbij is het één en al rust.
Er zijn slechts 2 letterlijk adembenemende stukken,vlak na Le Bourg d'Arud en de 6 haarspeldbochten voor je het kerkje van St.Christophe bereikt. De rest is al fietsend puur genieten van prachtige hooggebergte panorama's en watervallen in alle formaten langs de route.
Kies wel voor een wolkenloze en zonnige dag of je mist veel natuurpracht!
Einddorpje La Bérarde (horeca/parking/overnachting) is voor een dag zonder fiets de ideale uitvalbasis voor fantastische bergwandelingen in het Nationaal Park.
A real adventure this col, especially visually. The last 4 km you do not know where to look first: pure beauty. The beginning runs like a train and you make fast mileage but there are two very difficult passages waiting for you. The end of the climb is nice but take your time to enjoy the surroundings. At the top, there are several taverns where, surrounded by the high mountains of the Parc Des Ecrins, you can enjoy a nice plate of cheese.
Een echt avontuur deze col, vooral dan visueel. De laatste 4 kilometer weet je niet waar eerst kijken: pure schoonheid. Het begin loopt als een trein en je maakt snel kilometers maar er zijn twee zeer lastige passages die op je wachten. Het einde van de klim bolt lekker maar neem hier de tijd om vooral te genieten van de omgeving. Boven op de top zijn verschillende tavernes waar je, omringd door de hoge bergen van het Parc Des Ecrins, kan genieten van een lekker bordje kaas.

Heb deze klim vorig jaar gedaan. En zoals reeds aangegeven een adembenemend mooie klim. Veel toertochten die in deze streek georganiseerd worden laten deze links liggen, maar gebruiken wel de foto's van deze klim op hun website :D Het profiel klopt idd niet. Er zitten 2 zware stukken in van 10-12％. rond km 10 en 15.
It's true that there are two tough parts in this beautiful climb. And you can see it in the profile. You can indeed see that between 9 and 10 km the steepness increases just like at km 15.
Het klopt zeker dat er twee zware stukken in deze mooie klim zitten. En dat is ook zeker aan het verloop van het profiel te zien. Daar zie je inderdaad duidelijk dat tussen de 9 en 10 km de steilte flink de lucht in schiet net als bij kilometer 15.

Did this climb yesterday after Alpe d'Huez with Col de Sarenne, D211a. Certainly not to be underestimated. Many parts false flat, but also steep parts where you have to face it. The climb to Saint Christoph en Oisans is really tough, but once through the village, the scenery is amazing! Very worthwhile, you may really not miss if you're in the area
Deze klim gister gedaan na Alpe d'Huez met Col de Sarenne, D211a. Zeker niet te onderschatten. Veel stukken vals plat maar ook forse stukken waar je het voor de kiezen krijgt. De klim naar Saint Christoph en Oisans is echt zwaar, maar eenmaal door het dorp is het landschap waanzinnig! Zeer de moeite waard, mag je eigenlijk niet missen als je in de buurt bent
This is a really nice climb. Beautiful surroundings. Long, 27 km. And two steep parts.
The first part to the village of Venosc is okay, one bit more than 6%, but then the first 8 km are over. After Venosc the first hard part starts, over the bridge it goes straight up and after 1 km when you ride out of the forest it gets really hard with 11.2% as max.
Then again a flat piece until you reach the "Kayak". Here begins the second challenging part. You can see the hairpin bends above you. A good 8% for about 5 km. After the church of La Villa it becomes more relaxed. Still one kilometre at 6% but then flat, a bit downhill, and the last kilometres at 3.5% uphill.
In the village of La Berarde, after the church on the left hand side, there is a nice little restaurant where you can take a break.
Furthermore, a very quiet road.
Dit is echt een leuke klim. Mooie omgeving. Lang, 27 km. En twee steile stukken.
Het eerste stuk naar het dorpje Venosc gaan lekker, één stukje van meer dan 6%, maar dan zitten de eerste 8 km er op. Na Venosc begint het eerste pittige stuk, over de brug gaat het gelijk flink omhoog en na 1 km verder als je het bos uit rijdt, wordt het echt pittig met 11.2% als max. Terwijl je dat niet echt ziet aan de weg, maar wel voelt in je benen.
Daarna weer een vlak stuk totdat je bij de "Kayak" bent. Hier begint het tweede pittige stuk. Je ziet de haarspeldbochten al boven je. Een dikke 8% voor een kilometer of 5. Na het kerkje van La Villa wordt het meer relax. Nog wel een kilometer met 6% maar daarna vlak, een beetje naar beneden, en de laatste kilometers tegen 3.5% omhoog.
In het dorpje La Berarde is na de kerk aan de linkerzijde een prima restaurantje om even bij te komen.
Verder een hele rustige weg.
Truly the most beautiful climb in the Oisans region. The profile on this site suggests otherwise but there will be two walls waiting for you each around 10% and that a kilometer or 2/3. That means pieces of 16% alternated with pieces of 8 to 12%. Nevertheless a beauty, the last 10 km you get for free, if you were prepared for those walls. The climb starts in Bourg d'Oisans, so a nice 70km there and back. Must do and many times nicer than the easier to do Alpe d'Huez. That must do is like a coffee shop in Amsterdam for the many foreign tourists.
Echt met recht de mooiste klim in de regio Oisans. Het profiel op deze site doet anders vermoeden maar er zullen twee muren op je wachten van elk rond de 10% en dat een kilometer of 2/3. Dat betekend dus stukken van 16% afgewisseld door stukken van 8 tot 12%. Niettemin een beauty, de laatste 10 km krijg je kado, mits je voorbereid was op die muurtjes. De klim begint in Bourg d'Oisans, dus een lekkere 70km heen en weer. Must do en vele malen mooier als de makkelijker doceerbare Alpe d'Huez. Die must do is als een coffeeshop in Amsterdam voor de vele buitenlandse toeristen.
September 4, we rode this col.
We have been coming to Bourg-d'oisans for a few years now to tackle several cols. This secret tip appealed to us as an infrared mountain. Unfortunately.
It is a very nice climb, especially after the village. Unfortunately you can not prepare in advance for the profile. I have seen percentages of 11.3% 9.8% and some far above 5%. You just have to experience it and enjoy the surroundings and the flowing stream that you cycle along for the most part.

Wij komen al een paar jaar in Bourg-d'oisans om diverse cols te trotseren. Deze geheimtip sprak ons wel aan als een infietsberg. Helaas.
Het is een Zeer mooie klim , zeker voorbij het dorpje. Helaas kun je je van tevoren niet voorbereiden op het profiel . Ik heb percentages gezien van 11,3% 9,8% en een aantal ver boven de 5%. Je moet het gewoon ervaren en genieten van de omgeving en het stromende beekje waar je grotendeels langsfietst.
Succes met de klim en geniet ervan zover het kan.
Superb climb, beautiful nature and nice and quiet. Quality of the tarmac was not too bad. At some points it is mediocre, but whole sections of the climb have fairly recently been resurfaced.
There are indeed a few tough sections. On the col itself you can see the percentages per kilometre and there are at least 5 which are at/above 10%.
For the Strava adepts, note: the segment of the full climb starts on the 1091b, just before the roundabout which also leads to Alpe d'Huez. So start from Bourg d'Oisans!
Schitterende klim, mooie natuur en lekker rustig. Kwaliteit van het asfalt viel mij mee. Op sommige punten is het matig, maar hele delen van de klim zijn redelijk recent van nieuw asfalt voorzien.
Er zitten inderdaad een paar stevige stukken in. Op de col zelf staan de percentages per kilometer en je hebt er zeker 5 die tegen/over de 10% zijn.
Voor de Strava-adepten, let op: het segment van de volledige klim start op de 1091b, vlak voor de rotonde die ook naar Alpe d'Huez leidt. Starten vanuit Bourg d'Oisans dus!

Cycled often enough in the region and only now climbed, what a beauty!
After the village of Vénosc it's hard work with an average of 11% and just before La Ville not much different.
Apart from those two passages, this is a nice mild climb.
The scenery is breathtaking and so is the descent!
Afgelopen vrijdag deze mogen afvinken.
Al vaak genoeg in de streek gefietst en nu pas beklommen, wat een beauty!
Na het dorpje Vénosc is het aanpoten met een gemiddelde van 11% en vlak voor La Ville niet veel anders.
Buiten die twee passages is dit een heerlijke milde klim.
De omgeving is adembenemend als ook de afdaling!
Today I rode this as the first mountain ride of the year. There are a few pieces that are heavy (around 10%), this is mainly at the hairpin bends, otherwise it is good to do. The view is amazing and especially the last 5 km you hardly see anyone.
Vandaag deze gereden als eerste bergrit van dit jaar. Er zijn een aantal stukken die zwaar zijn (rond de 10%), dit is voornamelijk bij de haarspeldbochten, verder is het goed te doen. Het uitzicht is waanzinnig en zeker de laatste 5 km kom je bijna niemand tegen.
3rd day that I am cycling in the Alps. For "beginners" col d'ornon and la Berarde absolute recommendations. Berarde is many times nicer and longer. At the 2 km long 10% + piece is working hard. Also piece with 4/5 hairpin bends at 8%. Beautiful though. Last 10 km it is enjoyable.
3e dag dat ik aan t fietsen ben in de Alpen. Voor "beginners" col d'ornon en la Berarde absolute aanraders. Berarde is vele malen mooier en langer. Bij het 2 km durende 10%+ stuk is het aanpoten. Tevens stuk met 4/5 haarspeldbochten tegen 8% . Wel mooi. Laatste 10 km is het genieten

Fantastic climb. Done about 10 climbs in the region last week, and this was really the best. The views are amazing. The climb varies from false flat via short descents to steep pentes. The last 10km are the most enjoyable, with percentages never exceeding 5% and very rich views. Really a 'secret tip
Fantastisch mooie klim. Afgelopen week zo'n 10 beklimmingen in de regio gedaan, en dit was echt de mooiste. De uitzichten zijn wonderschoon. De klim varieert van vals plat via korte afdalingen naar steile pentes. De laatste 10km zijn het meest genieten, met percentages die eigenlijk nooit boven de 5% komen en heelrijke uitzichten. Echt een 'geheimtip'
Beautiful tour where you especially have to look around you, what a beautiful environment. The climb is quite long but not difficult because of the many false flat with only a few hairpins where you have to work.
Prachtige tocht waar je vooral om je heen moet kijken, wat een prachtige omgeving. De klim is redelijk lang maar niet moeilijk door het vele valse plat met maar een paar haarspelden waar je even aan het werk moet.
Today I did this climb under very nice conditions. What a great experience. Enjoyed it so much. Relatively easy climb. A few walls and then false flat. Loved the tarte tetin on top.
Vandaag deze beklimming gedaan onder bloedmooie omstandigheden. Wat een topper. Zo enorm genoten. Relatief makkelijke klim. Paar muurtjes verder vals plat. Vond de tarte tetin bovenop een aanrader
It's a terrible end, especially in May. It's still cold in May, so you have to put on your winter clothes more or less.
The profile is a bit too optimistic ... There are 2 steep parts ....
The first steep part contains sections of 14-16%. The second part contains an average of 8-9%. In those two steep parts you climb about 300-350 meters ...

Het is een verschrikkelijk eind, met name in mei. In mei is het nog koud, dus je moet ongeveer je winterkleding aan.
Het profiel is wat te optimistisch... Er zijn nl 2 steile stukjen ....
Het eerste steile deel bevat stukken van 14-16%. Het 2e deel bevat gemiddeld 8-9%. In die twee steule stukken klim je ongeveer 300-350 meter ...

This climb is almost 30 km long, through a beautiful natural park, with a babbling brook as companion. Much nicer than e.g. the Alpe d'Huez, but not nearly as hard, although the middle part with percentages above 10% is tough. At the end of the climb you can not continue. However, a terrace and then the same way back. At the beginning of the climb is the Dutch cycling hotel Au bon Acceuil . Recommended.
Bijna 30 km lang deze klim, door een prachtig natuurpark, met steeds een klaterende beek als begeleider. Veel mooier dan bijv de Alpe d'Huez, maar bij lange na niet zo zwaar, al is het middenstuk met percentages van boven de 10% pittig. Aan het eind van de klim kun je niet verder. Wel een terrasje en daarna via dezelfde weg terug. Aan het begin van de klim ligt het Nederlandse fietshotel Au bon Acceuil . Aanrader.
