Done on Wednesday afternoon, April 26, 2023
The road is not as bad as I expected from some of the comments, some parts have a brand new tarmac.
Some sections are deteriorated, but it's fine on an ordinary road bike.
A nice little climb with good gradients, on a narrow road with beautiful views over the Maurienne valley and especially the Massif opposite with the resort of St François Longchamp and the Rte du col de La Madeleine.
The traffic is calm but it is necessary to be careful before the bends and to keep the right, 2-3 small hamlets are served by this road.

Nice little climb to stretch the legs, no more or less. At the top there is nothing, crossing seems not useful given the unpaved road (not even tried further) and so the same way down. Through the hairpin bends you regularly get a nice view of the valley and the mountains that surround it. If you are going to make a real trip I would not do this climb but there are many nicer ones to find. If you just get out of the car or there is only time for one, then this is a very nice alternative where you can play with your climbing legs.

My last one in the Maurienne for 2022, I passed it until the end of the 10% passage at 1.5 km from Servion (I didn't have time to go back to Clermont in the evening). Nice bump, quiet on a road that reminds me of the one in my little Auvergne, i.e. narrow, always in grip and being average, especially at the end where the road is dented by the passing of farm machinery. But otherwise a nice climb without a car and in the end a smooth one despite a Glandon in pollen hypoxia mode the day before (my first bike abandonment for 15 years).

A climb on a quiet and narrow road. The road surface is lousy, which makes descending especially difficult. The climb is quite fast, so that from time to time you get a beautiful view in the direction of La chambre.
At the top, there is not much; it seems possible to continue to the next village, but it is about 2 km of unpaved 10% downhill. So we didn't do it. Reversed, and carefully descended.
