Road name: Herstedhøje Allé

The artificial hill of Herstedhøje stands as monumental giant in the outer Copenhagen area, a bit like Mont Ventoux in the provence area. As such, it is a must-do climb for cyclists in the area, but the pavement leaves much to be desired. I first rode it back in 2019 where the "asphalt" was decent but with many potholes. However, riding it in 2025 the experience has turned to the worse with the road surface now being almost unrideable on a roadbike. I still recommend it for the views ... read more

There is no gravel - but lots of potholes and bad tarmac. Quite easy to go around at the bottom but before the steep part the holes are bigger and difficult to keep the pace.

Hopefully it will get better at some point again

Just past the barrier over some gravel, then you are at the foot of a small hill. Bad tarmac, potholes, so some winding to get to the top. Nice view of Copenhagen when you get to the top, though.

Even langs de slagboom over wat gravel heen, dan ben je aan de voet van een heuveltje. Slecht asfalt, gaten, dus wat slingeren om boven te komen. Wel een mooi uitzicht over Kopenhagen als je boven bent.
