Magnificent climb, impressive views all the way up and once at the top. The road is in very good condition all the way up, although beware of the stones on the side of the road on the way down. An orientation table allows you to admire the myriad points of interest visible, including Mont Ventoux, the Massif des Ecrins and the Montagne de Lachens. A stele also pays tribute to the FTP soldiers who fell for France during the fighting on this mountain. In short, it's a must-see in the region, so peaceful and so steeped in history.
We've done this climb a couple of times but coming onto the D13 from the other direction. If the road to the summit is open to cars you need to stay vigilant as the road is very narrow. From the top you can see Mont Ventoux!
