The climb starts near the holiday park. Although the gradients are not really exciting you are constantly riding from hump to hump. The moment you encounter this climb with already quite a few altimeters in the legs you start to feel it. Otherwise, great connection between Sippenaeken and Gemmenich.
De klim begint t.h.v. het vakantiepark. Hoewel de stijgingspercentages niet echt spannend zijn ben je wel steeds van bult naar bult aan het rijden. Op het moment dat je deze klim met al behoorlijk wat hoogtemeters in de benen tegenkomt ga je dat wel voelen. Voor de rest prima verbinding tussen Sippenaeken en Gemmenich.
Connection road to get from the climb at the Kasteelstraat to the climb at the Epenerbaan (coming from Vaals). Not really a "climb" and nowhere really steep or difficult, but unnoticed you'll pick up quite some climbing percentages. Not a road where you can easily save yourself for the steeper climbs and maybe therefore somewhat treacherous to encounter this road on the route.
Verbindingsweg om van de klim bij de Kasteelstraat te komen naar de klim van de Epenerbaan (vanuit Vaals). Niet echt een "klim" en nergens echt enorm steil of lastig, maar ongemerkt pak je best wel wat klimpercentages mee. Geen weg waar je jezelf makkelijk kunt sparen voor de steilere klimmen en wellicht daarom enigszins verraderlijk om deze weg op de route tegen te komen.
A bit confusing climb because you have to go over hump after hump before you reach the last hump in the village of Gemmenich (at the bend in the road). Here you can turn left to go in the direction of Vaals (not a very good road), straight on it goes down towards the centre.
The slinger in the beginning is pleasant, further nice views and a beautiful green environment.
Een ietwat verwarrende klim omdat je bult na bult over moet voordat je in de bebouwde kom van Gemmenich bij de laatste bult (bij de slinger in de weg) boven komt. Hier kan je linksaf om binnendoor richting Vaals te gaan (wel matige weg qua asfalt), rechtdoor is afdalen richting centrum.
De slinger in het begin is aangenaam, verder aardige uitzichten en een mooie groene omgeving.
