In the morning, the climbing is mostly in the shade. The last stretch you come out of the forest again and see beautiful views. The climbing is quite manageable. Finally, a cup of coffee at Zum Charlie to enjoy the scenery. The descent via the same road back is also nice, alternating long winding descents and short steep sections. So you see all the landmarks of the outward journey from a different angle. Beautiful ride!... read more

Mooie rit!

Did the climb at the end of June in the morning on a beautiful, sunny day and enjoyed it very much! The traffic was not too bad and the road surface is fine. The views become increasingly beautiful and the road calmer as the climb progresses. The climb is manageable up to kilometre 15, after that it is really tough climbing for several kilometres. Average 11%, but the counter very regularly ticked 15%. Save some energy for the final kilometre, as it makes raking to the top. Order drinks at Zum Charly and enjoy the view!

Beautiful climb in 3 parts. First a few km of serious climbing where you go through some tunnels (tail light recommended), a relatively easy middle section and a very tough final stage. Halfway up, the road suddenly becomes narrow, making it virtually impossible for cars to pass each other. As a cyclist, this doesn't bother you much. In the final section, you keep seeing percentages of 11-13% until you enter a more open stretch with beautiful views. The toughest part, however, is saved until the final kilometre, after which you will have great views from the top.

Prachtige klim in 3 delen.

I did this climb mid June and it is wonderful. It starts to climb from the start and there is no hanging about, the Laterns valley is wonderful and the climb after Innerlaterns is quite a humdinger. The road surface is good and there is little traffic.
One of the best climbs I have done. Great to combine with other climbs in the area.

Nice climb on a quiet road. Long and hard though.
With beautiful autumn weather at the beginning of September, it was enjoyable.
