As far as I am concerned, Erasmusweg is the most beautiful climb in Noordwijk: the narrow cobbled road is idyllic between desperately thick houses and slowly unfolds views towards the sea.
Wat mij betreft is de Erasmusweg het mooiste klimmetje in Noordwijk: het smalle klinkerweggetje ligt idyllisch tussen wanstaltig dikke huizen en langzaam ontvouwt zich zicht richting zee.
For all the second part is fun to do and also quite 'steep'. Problem is, though, that - to get there - you have to cross a busy road diagonally. Far from ideal to cycle up that fast.
Voor al het tweede gedeelte is leuk om te doen en ook best ‘steil’. Probleem is wel dat je - om daar te komen - een drukke weg schuin moet oversteken. Verre van ideaal om zo hard omhoog te fietsen.
Noordwijk by the sea? Climbing by the sea! First half is false flat on a good bike lane along a busy road. Halfway you cross that road to a steeper quiet cobblestone road. Lovely to bang on. With such a nasty little curve at the top that you first think you are there, but you are not. Nice surprise in this region.
Noordwijk aan Zee? Klimmen aan zee! Eerste helft is vals plat op een goede fietsstrook langs een drukke weg. Halverwege steek je die weg over naar een steilere rustige klinkerweg. Heerlijk om op te knallen. Met zo'n smerig bochtje op de top waardoor je eerst denkt dat je er bent, maar toch niet. Leuke verrassing in deze regio.
