Very good asphalt on a comfortable ascent that from La Creueta is approximately 11 kms of ascent with the occasional break in between.
Pleasant climb over gorgeous tarmac. At the top, drive on to the viewpoint, you can see all around nicely and get a glimpse of the sea.
Prettige klim over schitterend asfalt.
Beautiful climb. Don't be fooled
By the low average gradient. The black asphalt is as smooth as a billiard cloth. However buck hot in summer.
The descent to Madremanya is cool!
Prachtige klim.
Lovely climb and quite spicy, consistent gradients. This is the toughest side. The other side is much less steep.
Little traffic.
Probably the most popular climb in the area. It's right on Girona's doorstep, has little traffic (apart from cyclists) and a nice steady gradient most of the way up to the old monastery, where the views are. Good surface makes descending a pleasure too. If you have time I'd recommend going up and over the other side to Madremanya, rather than turning round at the top.
Wonderful climb in a beautiful region. Climbing percentages never really get high so you can divide your forces well. Biggest challenge is the heat if you do this climb in the summer like we did. Temperature of 41 degrees makes every climb difficult :). When you reach the top, there is a bar to drink something with a beautiful view. Be sure to turn left on the gravel for the last bit.
