Indeed a particularly beautiful climb but not suitable for - too - thin tyres. 28mm is the least I would say. The climb starts with fine tarmac that rises steeply between the houses. After the turn to the right it flattens out a bit but after the last houses it goes very fast up into the forest - and it stays that way for a long time. The asphalt here is partly reasonable and over some stretches of a few dozen metres bad (asphalt with holes filled with gravel) where you have to be careful at the transition from asphalt to gravel. Further on, it becomes asphalt again where it still rises hard. Suddenly it flattens out and the asphalt ends. On gravel, through a beautiful forest, the ascent is a lot less steep but don't underestimate this stretch: it goes up and down with sometimes quite tough sections. Eventually it really flattens out to the highest point. Despite the sometimes considerable challenges, the whole climb was enjoyable.

A wonderful climb through a beautiful area. After a few 100 m. motorised traffic is prohibited. After 800 m you enter a beautiful forest where you only meet hikers, wildlife and lost cyclists.
In the forest, the road surface deteriorates. Decayed asphalt or unpaved gravel and stone path. Good tyres are no luxury. At the forest entrance, the percentages are steep, then it flattens out a bit. The bad road makes the climb harder; on the steep part you have to slog upwards, looking for non-slippery parts.
Yet the road is good to ride on a road bike with at least 28'' tyre thickness. The scenery is also worth it.
After the top, you continue for a few kilometres in the forest on the same road surface to good tarmac roads that take you to Tiège/NO-Spa.
