You can add a bit more climbing by starting lower down, SW of Uley. Gradually steepens through the nice village on a fairly quiet B road, smooth tarmac. Pretty steep for a while after the bends out of Uley. Mainly in trees, but through them you can glimpse a beautiful Cotswold valley to your right. A massive hill fort at the top, and a burial mound called Hetty Pegler's Tump where you could if so inclined crawl on your hands and knees into a short damp tunnel to the heart of the mound. Or you could just carry on cycling!
