A nice long climb of over 5 kilometres that starts near the turn-off to St. André and goes via Mortier towards Rue de Maestricht. Apart from a few steeper bits, it is mostly false flat.
Een lekker lopende lange klim van ruim 5 kilometer die begint t.h.v. de afslag naar St. André en via Mortier richting Rue de Maestricht loopt. Op enkele steilere stukjes na is het vooral vals plat.
Nice long climb with a distinctly steeper section at the start that winds nicely up through the greenery. Then a slower climb between the houses. Just before the end of the built-up area, the climb picks up speed and then follows a relaxed part with wide views to the left and nice views to the right.
Lekker lange klim met in het begin een duidelijk steiler stuk wat leuk omhoog slingert door het groen. Daarna klimt het langzamer omhoog tussen de huizen. Vlak voor het einde van de bebouwde kom nog even wat meer pit waarna een relaxed stuk uitrijden volgt met weids uitzicht aan de linkerkant en ook over rechts mooi uitzicht.
Very quiet on this road. First kilometer through forested area, last two kilometers slightly uphill between meadows. After the first half kilometer you can also turn left and choose a small variant that leads straight through the castle farm of Cortils.
Road surface is good uphill. Going down I think it will cause some bouncing now and then. Furthermore, it's not really a challenge, not even to train on content (in my opinion it becomes a bit too flat after one kilometer). But it is an excellent alternative to avoid that terrible N-road to Battice.
Heerlijke rust op deze weg. Eerste kilometer door wat bebost gebied, laatste twee kilometer lichtjes omhoog tussen de weilanden. Na de eerste halve kilometer kun je ook linksaf en een kleine variant kiezen die recht door de kasteelhoeve van Cortils leidt.
Wegdek is prima bergop. Bergaf denk ik dat het af en toe voor wat gestuiter gaat zorgen. Verder is het niet echt een uitdaging, ook niet om op inhoud te trainen (daarvoor wordt hij na een kilometer toch wat te vlak naar mijn mening). Maar het is een uitstekend alternatief om die vreselijke N-weg naar Battice te vermijden.
