Excellent tarmac, and only on the plateaus with the junctions is it necessary to watch out for traffic. The region has a very French feel to it (which the locals naturally speak) and the views are insane. Those who drive around here in high summer imagine themselves in the South of France. The climb itself is somewhat irregular so finding rhythm can be tricky for a while, but as said, the views make up for a lot.
