Already in the descent from the côte d'Autembert it becomes clear that this is not going to be an easy climb when you can clearly see how the côte de Conteville winds up the hillside on the other side. Once arrived on the slope itself, the image doesn't lie. The first hundreds of meters are still mild, but gradually the slope gets steeper. Having arrived at the houses the trail slowly flattens out.
Al in de afdaling van de côte d'Autembert wordt duidelijk dat dit geen gemakkelijke klim gaat worden als duidelijk te zien is hoe de côte de Conteville zich op de heuvelrug aan de overkant omhoog slingert . Eenmaal op de helling zelf aangekomen blijkt dat beeld niet gelogen te hebben. Zijn de eerste honderde meters nog mild, gaande weg de helling gaat het steeds wat steiler omhoog. Bij de bebouwing aangekomen vlakt het langzaam af.
