The first "wall" at 13% is formidable!
Then a descent that takes the pressure off and once again some serious gradients.
The road is in average condition, but deteriorates dramatically in the last kilometre.
It's only a nuisance on the descent, which isn't very pleasant either (gravel, potholes, pine cones...).
This descent really shakes things up!
Vigilance required.
Hidden jewel? I don't know. What is certain is that local cyclists think it's a gravel path.
The forest isn't ugly. So much the better, because that's all you'll see.
In terms of scenery, it's frankly stodgy and frustrating. Trees are everywhere.
The only place where you can vaguely catch a glimpse of a distant mountain silhouette is precisely where the base station was chosen! Splendid!
On arrival: an old abandoned hangar. So ugly that you realise it couldn't have been any other way.
At least, at the start, you have the pleasure of discovering the impressive Annot sandstone.
However, from a purely cycling point of view, it's a serious climb with plenty of irregularities.
So, yes, why not?
