A decent climb were you get a good rhythm after the bridge, not so special views, but the decent to other direction is superb - long straights to get your speed up and nice flowing curves!

A col without much history, few scenic views and with quite a lot of traffic. Above the village of Saint-Martin, you can see the impressive traces of the natural disaster that took place here in 2020. Once above the village, it gets a little calmer, and you end up more in the forest, but even at the summit you don't really have a view, just a featureless ski resort, with parking and roundabout.

I had expected the climb to really start in Saint Martin de Vesubie, but from Roquebilliere the road goes viciously uphill. But what a catastrophic inferno took place here in 2020! Dozens of houses in beautiful ST Martin have been completely washed away and some are on the verge of collapse. The original road and bridge have also disappeared, so you cycle over a steel temporary bridge. The new asphalt along the river also looks steeper at the 9%. Outside the village on the way to the Colmiane, you cycle into the forest and nothing of the flooding seems to have happened. At the top of the ski area, there are some restaurants. Quite unreal!

Best onwerkelijk!
