Today I did the last part of this col, the part from Bouvieres to the top which is the most difficult part.
The first part I did last year and that is a nice wide road until Bouvieres. In Bouvieres you turn left for the last 4 km which is quite nice with some curves. The hardest part is at 1 km from the top where you have 2 hairpin turns. Once at the top it is breathtakingly beautiful. The road is nice and good and wide but it certainly doesn't give the feeling of a highway to the top. Once past the top and a short descent, you can take the D173 to col de Pre Guittard which is a hidden gem of over 5 km at I think 7%.
I just submitted it as a new climb. Definitely fun if you are in the area, just for the beautiful scenery and the quiet cycling here.
