A very scenic climb, but with a lot of car traffic. The gradient at the start of the Rte des Ormonts is moderate and increases slightly in the first two hairpin bends. Here you are in the Badoux wine-growing region. The view of the castle of Aigle is beautiful, but only possible for a short time due to the traffic. After 6.5 kilometres, you pass through a gallery, which is open to the valley side. Light is not necessary. After Ormont-Dessous, the gradient increases again after a sharp left-hand ... read more

After Ormont-Dessous, the gradient increases again after a sharp left-hand bend. As a lot of traffic continues over the Pont d'Aigrement to Les Diablerets, it becomes a little quieter from here. However, the gradients remain around 10%. There have always been a lot of roadworks here in recent years. From Comballaz onwards, the road becomes rural, much flatter and lined with meadows. In Les Mosses, the Col road is very wide with car parks on both sides and a Col sign. We recommend continuing to Lécherette and Lac de l'Hongrin (please note: this is a restricted military area and can only be used to a limited extent during exercises).
If you want to avoid the heavy traffic and have the opportunity, you should start from Gsteig via the Col de Pillon (Glacier 3000). This ascent is much quieter than via Aigle.
