Pretty tough climb that I came to purely by chance after climbing the St-Jean as part of my brevet des 7 cols de l'Ubaye. A punchy first half, flat for a while, then down and then up again, albeit slightly less steep. Just below the summit I had a conversation with a local concerning the crashed German Wings plane. Because of that, not a very good climbing time. The descent to Serre-Ponçon is quite steep in the second part, so watch out for oncoming traffic.
