Road in good condition, a little gravelly in places.
The route is through woodland on a quiet road.
The only difficulty is after 4km, with a section of around 500m at 9-10％. For the rest, the gradients are moderate and easy.

Covered ascent in the shade of the trees. The route becomes pleasant especially in the last few bends, towards Obersteigen. Overall quite rolling and pleasant. Nice views up and through the forest on the switchbacks.
Montée couverte, à l'ombre des arbres. Le parcours devient agréable surtout dans les derniers lacets, vers Obersteigen. Globalement assez roulant et agréable. Jolies vues en haut et à travers la foret dans les le lacet.
The Col de Valsberg is a beautiful climb. The climb is not too hard and goes up and down a bit. Over 10 km you make over 400 hm. The road surface is good, there is little traffic. The climb takes you through a nice forest so there is a lot of shelter on hot days.
De Col de Valsberg is een prachtig klimmetje. De klim is niet al te zwaar en ze gaat een beetje op en af. Over 10 kilometer maak je dan toch dik 400 hm. Het wegdek is goed, verkeer is er weinig. De klim voert je door een mooi bos waardoor er veel beschutting is op warme dagen.
