We started early but it was still quite hot climbing up, with views back to Puget-Theniers and across the Var valley.

The middle section climbs hard but I didn't feel the 14％ advertised. The road is pleasant and calm. It's nice to have the kilometre signs for cyclists. The concept of the cols connectés in the Alpes Maritimes is excellent.
