Col très intéressant à faire en début de saison pour reprendre la forme. Aucun passage à plus de 8%. Revêtement très correct. Seul bémol, il n’y a pas de vue au sommet. A mi parcours, on peut néanmoins admirer la Tournette, la chaîne des Aravis et le mont blanc pas temps clair. L’été ce versant Est chauffe dès le matin. Très peu de circulation. On peut continuer après le col sur l’autre versant et même prendre la direction de la Corniche de Valromey et donc rouler sur la partie centrale du massif du grand colombier sur du vallonné parfois raide (11%).
