Climbed on 1 July 2025 with the cycling club 'Les Potes de La Motte'. From the start it is a nice 20km climb not too difficult. We had very hot weather, so did a 'coffee stop' in La Chapelle-en-Vercors; also favourable to fill the water bottle as otherwise on the road no springs! Alpine meadows , little traffic, good road. On the way to the Col de Chau.....At the col car park for walks (no facilities)

The view over Vassieux from the top of the pass is nice, but the climb is nothing to write home about, so you'll want to use other routes to get up this side, unless you're already very tired.

The best part is after la Chapelle. Gradual slope into the forest, and you emerge at the top into an open landscape of alpine meadows. There you can have a nice long run while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

One of the least exciting little passes in the Vercors. Not far away, there are so many interesting climbs that I find it hard to recommend this one.
That is, only if you are in the area.
