A superb pass in this slightly lower part of the Ariège. The first few kilometres are very easy, almost flat, even the first two milestones after the sign at the foot of the pass are very straightforward. The gradient gets steeper as you go along, with the castle of Montségur always watching you in the background. The scenery is magnificent, the road is good and there are several shady sections, which are very pleasant in the heat. The hardest gradients arrive as you pass through the village of Montségur and continue all the way to the summit. The Tour de France will pass through here in 2026, and you should too!

For Belesta started the climb. The first few kilometres flat to gently uphill. The last four kilometres the climbing really starts. The last two can be called downright steep and tough.

Beautiful climb, which was quite tough for me as a novice cyclist at the time, with the ruins of Montségur castle at the top.

Lovely climb, good tarmac. Can also be climbed from the other side, then a bit steeper but also shorter. At the end of this climb, the last three kilometers, percentages of 8-12 %.

Heerlijke klim, prima asfalt.
