Did this side also up a trip later. There is already a lot of altitude in the faint approach so it is a lot easier from this side. It really starts just below the village in the middle. How much it makes a difference if you already know the col and how many turns you have to take! There were all longboarders coming down who took advantage of the quiet traffic and good asphalt

As a descent: nice asphalt at the top and wonderful clear hairpin bends. Last 1/3 of the way to the junction with the Portet d'Aspet, and also at the very top, it had just been 'treated' with loose grit. So watch out
