Steeper climb than the other side but short. Good tarmac but often a lot of traffic. I think it's best to do it during the week between late morning and early afternoon. Sometimes nice views on the way up.

Climbed this col in 2012, as part of my cycling tour to Bourg d' Osians - ALP D Huez. In itself a nice climb, lots of traffic.

claudio went there in oct 2025 with his panniers, fortunately downhill, fast and smooth, wide, so not much overtaken by cars: missed the small adjoining road, to be seen.

Carried out in the middle of November, this assencion is fairly regular. There's no spectacular scenery but it does offer some nice views. The quality of the tarmac is good, but the traffic is heavy.

I ride on gravel with clip-ins, so in slow mode. This climb doesn’t have much interest except for reaching Saint-Julien-de-Ratz and making an interesting loop or heading towards Saint-Laurent-du-Pont. The road isn’t very inviting as it’s quite busy and sometimes feels tight. Halfway up, I really felt the 8% and 9% gradients, but it’s not long. The cycle path isn’t very wide and sometimes missing. The descent, however, is nice. In this area, it’s the easiest climb — because there are some real monsters nearby (for gravel riders).

A short pass with some interesting small climbs, but very busy, even on a weekday morning.
