If you take the Route Napoleon north from the coast, the Col de la Faye is the logical continuation after the Col du Pillon. Still a busy road and here without a cycle lane. More importantly, without a single splash of shade, making it a particularly hot climb in summer. The road is never steep and the only highlights are the only hairpin bend and the little bar at the top for a cold coke.
