Nice climb, not difficult at all. No scenery at the top of the pass, but nice views before and (especially) after.
More than 2x as long as from the other side but a gentle start on good road surface, plenty of shade higher up and a steep bit to finish. Nice hairpins too. Worth a detour to climb this quiet and relatively easy route

Fantastische rustige rit. Sprookjesachtige afdaling richting Sainte-Croix.
From Beaufort, signs indicate that it is a 12 km climb, but the first 9 km are mostly 1 or 2%. It is only from Escoulin onwards that the climb really starts. On hot days, the wind can be strong and blow down through the valley. On the other hand, it is the only coolness, because there is not much shade.
There is nothing on top except the sign. What is striking is that the west side is dry, rocky with some pine forest and the east side is agricultural, green and with several farms. So two very different landscapes.
Twee behoorlijk verschillende landschappen dus.
