From Beaufort, signs indicate that it is a 12 km climb, but the first 9 km are mostly 1 or 2%. It is only from Escoulin onwards that the climb really starts. On hot days, the wind can be strong and blow down through the valley. On the other hand, it is the only coolness, because there is not much shade.
There is nothing on top except the sign. What is striking is that the west side is dry, rocky with some pine forest and the east side is agricultural, green and with several farms. So two very different landscapes.

Twee behoorlijk verschillende landschappen dus.
