This morning, for breakfast, we climbed this climb, highly recommended! Didn't see a single car, very quiet road (big advantage compared to col de Faucille)! In the beginning (a few kilometers long), the percentage never drops below 10%, which makes it quite tough. Towards the end, there are some better stretches to catch your breath or to improve your Strava time on the big slab. Unfortunately, from the top of the pass you have hardly any view on the beautiful valley with Lac Léman, ... read more

Lovely climb, makes for a great loop with a descent via Faucille afterwards. Basically no traffic, and an incredible view at around 200m of climbing to go! The first 500m are tough, my Garmin said 10-11% for basically the whole time. Towards the end it becomes more gentle and is an overall brilliant climb.

I would advise against descending here though, because the road quality is not brilliant. It's perfectly fine for climbing, but would be suboptimal for fast descents. Note that there are sections of descent on this type of road towards Faucille where there are holes in the asphalt, and the asphalt in general is very bumpy.

Nice climb if you like low trafic roads, but as a consequence it's not always clean, with some rocks and branches falling from the mountain, so be careful in the descent! No regular maintenance during winter so the snow can accumulate.
From Divonne to the top or La Vattay, the climb is longer than described here, but with the same profile. The end on this map is where nordic skiing starts with packed snow in the winter, which can last longer than expected.
Great climb to ride on toward the cols de la Faucille, Givrine, or maybe even Marchairuz...

A great, fairly physical climb
BEWARE OF THE DANGEROUS DESCENT !!!!!!!
Descend via the vattay via the sickle.

super ideal ascent. grade slowly declines as the summit is reached. very little traffic. main drawback is the surface: makes for a unstable, bumpy descent.

Beware, the summit indicated by the signs is a little further (12.3km in total, summit at 1390m) but the extra kilometres are easy. A few kilometres without too much difficulty to reach the col de la faucille and come back down on a better asphalted and wider road (but with many more cars).

The road is almost always in the shade, with only one real view of Lake Geneva in the middle of the climb.

Unfortunately, from the top of the pass you have hardly any view on the beautiful valley with Lac Léman, you're almost always under the trees (which is an advantage considering the heat). The road surface is not great, but for climbing it's more than enough (I wouldn't recommend descending via this road).
