One of the many small passes in the Drôme. The road is clean. The gradient is gentle. Nearby is the Col de La Machine, which really is a must. This Col de Boutière is best done as part of a longer breakaway. There's plenty of material all around...... read more

It is a somewhat longer climb unfortunately though along a somewhat busier through road. The climb climbs gradually with no real outliers.

On this side, I find the col de Boutiere the least challenging and most enjoyable climb. The road is wide and the rather busy traffic between Bourdeaux and Dielefit makes you have to pay attention on this winding road. However, it goes up to 10% % in some places. If I drove from Bourdeaux to the top of the col de Boutiere I did this via Le Poet 3and camping le couspeau. This is a nice climb on a narrow and quiet road that at times goes well above the 10% especially just before the few houses of Le Poet Celard center where you have to take a right turn to camping Le Couspeau.
