For those who like to climb in scorching heat. This is the place to be. The area of Seillans (stuck to a hillside) is known as a baking oven. The first part of the climb is quite tough and then it slowly flattens out. Once at the top, you can continue to climb to the Col de Valferrière on the "route Napoléon". This will take you almost 21 km in total. Make sure you have enough booze with you because once you pass le Cuinier you won't find anything until Mons (halfway the climb). Oh yes.... Former cyclist, sports director and sports reporter Fred de Bruyne is buried at the Seillans cemetery.
Voor wie houdt van klimmen in een verzengende hitte. Daar moet je zijn. De streek van Seillans (tegen een heuvelwand geplakt) is bekend als een bakoven. Een eerste gedeelte van de klim dat vrij pittig is om dan langzaam af te vlakken. Een maal op de top kan je door klimmen naar de Col de Valferrière op de "route Napoléon". Dan ben je in totaal bijna 21 km zoet. Zorg wel dat je voldoende drank bij hebt want eenmaal voorbij le Cuinier kom je niets meer tegen tot in Mons (halverwege de klim) . O ja.... Op het kerkhof van Seillans ligt voormalig wielrenner, sportdirecteur en sportverslaggever Fred de Bruyne begraven.
