This is the climb to choose if you want some nice scenery on your way up to Potten End. There are no hedges on the left in the lower part of the climb, and also some nice rows of trees. The views across to the left are very pretty. Then you get more into the hollow way part of the climb, with the woods on the right, and things start getting steeper, but it's not long before you're rounding the bend at the top. Traffic is light, but as with all these climbs towards Potten End from the canal, the lanes are so narrow that any vehicle is likely to be a problem. But the drivers are usually courteous, and it isn't enough of a problem to stop you using the roads. The cars also do a reasonable job of keeping the road clear of debris, apart from the usual ridge of stones and gravel in the middle.
